Prize Nominations

Only candidates who have been officially nominated on a fully completed nomination form will be considered for a  Gruber International Prize. All nominations materials must be submitted in English, and self-nominations are not accepted. The Chair of each Selection Advisory Board ensures that nominations are of sufficient caliber to merit consideration prior to the meeting of the Board. If a nomination passes the Chair’s review, it remains active for three years unless the nominee is selected to receive the prize or is voted off by the Board. After the third year of eligibility, further consideration of a nomination requires that it be resubmitted.

In the spring of 2011, Yale University and The Peter and Patricia Gruber Foundation signed an agreement that established the Gruber Foundation at Yale, which will carry on its philanthropic mission. The Foundation’s Science Prizes and Young Scientist Awards remain the same; the missions of the Justice and Women’s Rights Prizes have merged and transitioned into the Gruber Program for Global Justice and Women’s Rights.
