Christopher Smeenk
Smeenk is a historian and philosopher of physics, whose work concerns primarily cosmology, seventeenth century natural philosophy, and debates in general philosophy of science regarding the nature of scientific theories. After receiving a BA from Yale in 1995, he completed a PhD in the history and philosophy of science at the University of Pittsburgh in 2003. His first faculty position was at UCLA’s Department of Philosophy, before moving to the University of Western Ontario in 2007. He has subsequently been promoted to professor of philosophy at Western, and also served for several years as the Director of the Rotman Institute of Philosophy.
