Julio Navarro

Professor Julio Navarro graduated and earned his PhD from Córdoba's National University in Argentina after a stint as a Predoctoral Fellow at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. He held Postdoctoral Appointments at Cambridge University and Durham University in the UK (1991-1994) and was appointed Bart J. Bok Fellow at the University of Arizona (1994-1998) before joining the faculty at the University of Victoria in Canada in 1998. He is currently a Fellow of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, and has received numerous distinctions in the past, such as an Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship in 1999, a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2003, and the Bessel Prize from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in 2004.

His research interests include cosmology, galaxy formation, and dark matter.
